Where you meet your driver

Baggage reclaim and the meeting area are on the arrivals level of the single terminal. There are several exits, so we agree a fixed meeting point in advance: your driver waits there with a board showing your name, and you have his phone number before you land. Allow for the walk — from a far gate to passport control can take 20 minutes or more.

Terminals

Istanbul Airport runs everything from a single terminal building, shared by international and domestic flights. It is very large: the walk from a far gate to passport control can take 20 minutes or more, so do not judge your timings by the map.

Where it is

The airport is on the European side near Arnavutköy, around 40 km from Taksim. Allow 60–90 minutes into the city, more at rush hour.

IST or Sabiha Gökçen?

Istanbul Airport (IST) and Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) are on opposite sides of the city and are not interchangeable. Check which one your ticket says.

Your flight home

For the return leg we plan the pickup so you are at the terminal at least two hours before a short-haul flight — at IST, closer to three hours is safer.
