Golf Trips: Bags, Early Tee Times and the Right Vehicle
A golf party works out differently from a travel party of the same size: four players bring four cases and four bags, so eight items against four seats. Here it is not the headcount that decides the vehicle but the load.
- Declaring a bag
- €10 each
- VIP van
- 6 items
- Main destination
- Belek
The sum with bags in it
Every class has a seat count and a luggage count, and they are the same number: the VIP van six and six. Four players with a case and a bag each come to eight items — two too many. In that case the luggage decides the class; the full calculation is in when luggage decides your vehicle.
Two players fit without trouble: two cases, two bags, four items. The limit sits not at a group size but at six pieces — and that is reached with three players once each also brings a holdall.
Declaring bags properly
Golf bags are extra luggage: €10 an item, added in step two of the booking, up to five. Put the number in the notes field as well so it is clear what they are — a bag is long and rigid and cannot be tucked into a gap the way a case can. The wider rules are in declaring oversized luggage.
Belek, and the run out to it
Most golf trips on the Turkish Riviera go to Belek, and that is one of the shorter routes from Antalya Airport. For the arrival that means the drive is rarely the problem; the loading is more likely to be. If the party is larger than four, check the item count twice before booking.
Early departures
Golf trips regularly collide with the flight home: play a early round on departure day and there is little slack afterwards. So set the pickup time by working backwards from the departure rather than forwards from the tee time — the calculation is in when should you leave your hotel for the airport.
If the luggage is coming from the course rather than the hotel, or you want to call at the clubhouse on the way, that is a stop: €15 each, up to three, booked in advance.
Count again for the return
People who arrive with four items rarely leave with four — clubs bought locally, an extra case, gifts. Give the new count when the pickup time is confirmed; a short message is enough, even on the day.
Common questions
How many golf bags fit in a vehicle?
A bag counts as one item of luggage. The VIP van is rated for six — four players with a case and a bag each come to eight and need the next class up.
What does taking a golf bag cost?
€10 an item as extra luggage, up to five items per booking. It is paid on the day like the fare.
Do I have to declare bags in advance?
Yes. The vehicle is dispatched against what the booking says — undeclared bags can usually be resolved on the spot but cost time and possibly a second vehicle.
Can we stop at the golf course on the way?
Yes, as a stop for €15, up to three per journey. Give the address when booking, and the time too if it is time-critical.
