What to Do If You Cannot Find Your Driver

Four steps, in this order: walk through customs into the public area, check which terminal you are in, call the driver, call us. In the overwhelming majority of cases it is settled by step one or two.

Step 1: Are you actually in the public area?

This is by far the commonest cause. Before customs lies the transit area, which only passengers may enter — your driver cannot be standing there however long you look. Walk through the doors beyond customs, and only then start looking around.

If everyone around you has a suitcase and nobody is holding a board, you are not out yet.

Step 2: Are you at the right terminal?

At an airport with two terminals the other arrivals hall is a walk away, not a few metres. At Antalya Airport that means Terminal 1 and Terminal 2; at İzmir and Dalaman it means the international and domestic buildings.

Your driver is at the terminal that belongs to your flight number. If you were moved onto a different flight at short notice and that did not reach us, this is exactly where the discrepancy comes from.

Step 3: Call the driver

You were sent his number before you travelled. One call settles who is standing where in about twenty seconds, and beats another circuit of the hall every time.

Step 4: If the driver does not answer

Then come to us. We are on WhatsApp around the clock, three in the morning included — the number is on the contact page. Give your name, the airport and the terminal you are standing in. We have the driver's contact and will find out from our end where he is.

A driver who is manoeuvring at the kerb or sitting in the car park does not always pick up on the first ring. That is not cause for concern; it is the usual reason step four exists.

The two usual causes

First: the passenger got through faster than expected and is still looking airside. Second: two terminals, two exits, and both parties waiting — each in the right place, just not the same one. Both are resolved within minutes once somebody makes a phone call.

What not to do

  • Do not get into another vehicle. Anyone approaching you in the hall offering a ride is not your driver. Your driver holds a board with your name on it.
  • Do not leave the hall before you have made a call. Outside you are harder to find, not easier.
  • Do not make your own way without telling us. If you change your mind, send a quick message — otherwise a driver waits for someone who is not coming.

And if you have to go back into the baggage area because a case is missing, call before you do. Then the driver knows you have landed, and waits.

Common questions

I am in the arrivals hall and cannot see anyone with my name.

Check first that you are past customs and at the right terminal. Then call the driver — you were sent his number before you travelled. Stay where you are rather than continuing to search.

The driver is not answering. What now?

Message us on WhatsApp; we are reachable around the clock and have the driver's contact. Someone not picking up while manoeuvring or in the car park is normal.

How long will the driver wait for me?

On an arrival he is dispatched against the actual landing time and waits until you are through — waiting caused by a flight delay is not charged. Let us know if it is running long for another reason.

Somebody offered me a ride in the hall. Was that my driver?

No. Your driver does not approach you; he holds a board with your name. Do not get into a vehicle you have not booked.
