Booking a Transfer for Someone Else
The person booking and the person travelling need not be the same — with business trips, family visits and wedding guests that is the norm. Exactly three things need settling: whose name goes on the board, which number the driver calls, and who pays on the day.
- Name on the board
- the passenger's
- Phone number
- the passenger's
- Confirmation
- to your address
The name belongs to whoever arrives
The board in the arrivals hall shows the name from the booking's name field. Put the passenger there, not yourself — otherwise your mother is in Antalya looking for a board with your name on it. And use the spelling that person would actually scan for.
For a group, a company or party name works too, as long as the travellers know it. If a particular name should appear for some other reason, add it in the notes field as well.
The phone number matters more
The driver calls the number on the booking. It has to be the number that is switched on in the destination country on the day — so the passenger's, with its country code. Your own number helps nobody at the airport if you are two thousand kilometres away.
Who pays
The standard is payment to the driver on the day. If the passenger should not be paying — a common wish with parents, guests or colleagues — settle it with us before booking. Card payment in advance is possible by arrangement. It cannot be sorted out at the vehicle, and otherwise your guest is unexpectedly faced with a bill. What the price covers is in how and when you pay.
Who gets the confirmation
The confirmation goes to the email address you enter — so usually to you. Forward it to the passenger, or enter their address from the start if they should check the details themselves. What matters is that the driver's details reach the person actually flying before they travel: they receive the driver's phone number ahead of departure.
Changes and cancellation
Both go through you if you made the booking — with your name, the travel date and the change. The passenger can equally get in touch, as long as they can quote the booking details. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the agreed pickup time; the mechanics are in changing or cancelling.
What to pass on to the passenger
- The name that will be on the board — if it is not their own.
- The driver's phone number, once it arrives.
- Where the driver waits: the public arrivals hall, past baggage reclaim and customs. See how to find your driver.
- Whether there is anything to pay on the day or not.
Common questions
Whose name goes in the name field?
The passenger's. That exact name goes on the board in the arrivals hall — somebody who is not travelling should not be on it.
Can I give my own phone number?
Better not. The driver calls the number on the booking, and it should be reachable in the destination country on the day. Yours can go in the notes field as well.
Can I pay in advance so my guest does not have to?
By arrangement, yes. Settle it with us before booking — it cannot be arranged at the vehicle.
Does the passenger get the confirmation?
It goes to the email address entered. Either enter theirs or forward it on — the driver's details should reach the person who is flying before they travel.
