Hotel Name or Address? Giving a Pickup Location a Driver Can Use

In the great majority of cases the hotel name from the destination list is enough. It gets tighter in four situations: holiday apartments with no reception, private villas, addresses in old-town lanes, and chain names that appear more than once in the same resort. All four can be settled before you travel.

Why the hotel name is usually enough

The properties in our destinations are known to the drivers — that is the practical dividend of driving the same routes every day. A hotel name from the destination list is therefore a complete answer, not a shortcut. The route, and with it the price, follows from the destination anyway rather than from the street number.

The four cases where it is not

A holiday apartment

With no reception there is nobody who knows you are expected, and often no sign at the road either. Put the full address in the notes field, along with the owner's mobile number if you have one.

A private villa

Villas on hillsides regularly sit on access roads that have no name on any map. A map pin helps more here than any description — send us the coordinates or a shared location and the matter is closed.

Old-town lanes

In Kaleiçi and comparable old quarters the lanes are simply too narrow for a large vehicle. We drive as close as it allows and the last stretch is a short walk. Tell us in advance if you are staying there: a suitable vehicle gets planned and the meeting point agreed beforehand, rather than improvised on arrival.

One name, several properties

Some chain names appear two or three times in the same resort area, sometimes a few kilometres apart. If your hotel belongs to a chain, add the district. It costs five seconds and can save half an hour.

What to do when the hotel is not fixed yet

Book on the destination and send the name when you have it. That is routine rather than an exception — particularly on package holidays, where the property is often allocated late. It changes nothing about the price, which hangs on the route and not on the building.

Changing the address later

Possible at any time with a short message. Moving within the same destination is simply a note; if the new place falls in a different destination area, the fixed price changes to match the new route and we tell you the new amount in advance. The mechanics are the same as for flight details in your flight changed after booking.

What we do not need

  • Your room number — you do not know it when booking anyway, and the driver waits outside the building, not outside your door.
  • Your tour operator reference. It tells us nothing about where to collect you.
  • Directions written out in prose. A map pin is more precise than three sentences about the second turning after the petrol station.

Common questions

Is the hotel name enough, or do you need the full address?

For a hotel from the destination list the name is enough. For holiday apartments, private villas and old-town addresses we need the full address, ideally with a map pin as well.

I do not know my hotel yet. Can I still book?

Yes. Book on the destination and send the name once it is settled. The price depends on the route, not on the individual property.

Can I change the pickup address after booking?

Any time, with a short message. Within the same destination it is just a note; if the new place is in a different destination area we will tell you the adjusted fixed price first.

My hotel is down a narrow old-town lane. Do you drive to the door?

As close as possible — some lanes are too narrow for a larger vehicle. Tell us beforehand and we agree the meeting point in advance rather than looking for one on the day.
